Fifteen months ago, twenty four alien ships landed on Earth without warning.

For weeks, humanity attempted to make contact, having convinced themselves that doing so was the peaceful route — but they were wrong. Because when the ships finally responded, they unleashed a nightmare that brought civilization to its knees.

For Vespera Aguilar, an ambitious artist with a stubborn personality and little patience for anyone who doubts her, the invasion meant abandoning her comfortable life in Seattle to find sanctuary in the Olympic National Park. But when she stumbles upon alien symbols and begins attempting to decode them, questions surrounding the invasion arise. Leaving her to wonder why the extra-terrestrials invaded earth in the first place.

And that’s only one part of this story.

Long before the invasion took over the sky and Vespera's need to understand the aliens arose, she found herself torn between Soren Graham, the childhood best friend she'd always found comfort in and River Ashford, the man who loved her sister first

As the past and present collide, every answer uncovers a piece of a larger mystery, forcing Vespera to confront the truth that this discovery will have the power to change everything — including her.
